This competition is inspired in the red bull X-alps. The starting point is Gistredo, the most well-known flight zone in El Bierzo (León, Spain). The finishing point is La Vecilla, one of the most famous flight zones near León city. The objective is to go from Gistredo to La Vecilla flying with paragliders or travelling by foot. The distance between the start point and the finish point is about 85km in a straight line. But depending on the route that the team follows, the distance can become longer. This competition is a bit more modest than the X-Alps competition, but it is also not as hard, fisically speaking. However, the spirit of adventure is the same as the X-Alps! |

The pilot's task is to fly and walk. The pilot's assistant on land follows his flight by car and provides to him anything he needs, such as food, water, all the necessary stuff to sleep, etc. If the team flies in tandem, there will be 3 people in total, a pilot, the passenger, and the assistant. In case that there are a lot of pilots and only a few assistants, we will try to organize one assistant for several pilots. If the assistant is also a pilot, then the pilot and the assistance can exchange their roles whenever they find it necessary (like a relay).

In order to compete it is necessary to have a valid flight licence. In order to compete it is essential that you bring GPS and radio. The pilot has to carry his flight equipment during the entire route. The route must be done by foot or by paraglider. Once the competition begins, the pilot cannot do any part of the route by car. The only way he could do this would be in the case that he exchanges roles with the assistant. The GPS must be ON whenever the pilot flies or walks, so that when the competition finishes and you download all the flight tracks, there is no discontinuity among them. If your GPS consumes a lot, you should bring aditional batteries with you.

INTERMEDIATE: Paragliders DHV 1-2 and 2 COMPETITION: Paragliders DHV 2-3 and competition TANDEM: If there are only a few tandem teams in the competitions, they will compete the intermediate category.
